The following criteria were used for selection:
- There must have been an Expression of Interest from the applicants.
- The applicants must be enrolled in a PhD program in the near future.
How to apply
The university portal must be used to apply for admissions. It is necessary to submit the scholarship application separately.

The following criteria must be met for entry:
- Bachelor’s degrees (or equivalents) from the University of Adelaide must have at least a minimum distinction average; Honours degrees (or equivalents) from the University of Adelaide must have at least a second-class grade (upper division), a postgraduate coursework degree with significant research components and a minimum GPA, or a Master of Philosophy (or equivalent) from the University of Adelaide.
- Students must submit test scores for English language proficiency in the following areas:
- English proficiency test (IELTS) academic
- Testing of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) on the Internet
- Academic version of PTE (Pearson Test of English)
- Cambridge English: Advanced (previously CAE – Cambridge English: Advanced)
