All interested and deserving individuals may now apply for the Graduate Research Scholarship Grants at the University of Melbourne in 2023.

For overseas students, the University of Melbourne Research Award is a fully financed scholarship. These scholarships are available for PhD and Master’s degree programs. The complete cost of tuition, a travel allowance, a living allowance of around $31,200 year, and academic costs are all covered by these scholarships.

Applicant Benefits
The following advantages will be given to the recipient of the University of Melbourne Scholarship in 2022:

For students pursuing a doctorate degree, the whole tuition may be waived for up to four years or up to two years for those pursuing a master’s by research.

For students pursuing a Masters by Research degree or a doctorate degree, the living allowance is $31,200 per year pro rata (2020 full-time study rate) for up to two years or 3.5 years, depending on the length of the program. The living allowance comprises a small amount of paid sick, maternity, and parental leave and is subject to yearly indexing.

Students migrating from other States or Territories outside Victoria will get a $2000 relocation award, while students travelling from outside of Australia will receive a $3000 grant.

For overseas students who need a student visa to study in Australia, Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Single Membership is available.

Application Guidelines: You will be automatically eligible for the Graduate Research Scholarships if you are a new student and have submitted an application for a graduate research course by the course’s application deadline.

You must submit an online application by October 31 in order to be eligible for a scholarship the following year if you accepted an offer for a graduate research course and postponed graduation in order to have your scholarship application evaluated.

To be eligible for a scholarship the following year while enrolled in a graduate research course for which you are applying, you must complete an online application by October 31.

Around 600 scholarships were given out.

Selection Standards
All of the conditions listed below must be met by a candidate in order to be eligible for the University of Melbourne Scholarship:

English is a required language.
All nations in the world are eligible.
Be enrolled in a graduate research degree at the University of Melbourne, or have applied for and met the admission criteria for a Master’s or Doctorate by research degree there.
