The International Student Merit Scholarship is offered by the University of Houston in Victoria (UHV) to incoming/current undergraduate and postgraduate (Masters) students who are in possession of an international visa status.
The International Merit Scholarship award is open to all graduate and undergraduate students. If the winner is a spring semester recipient, the reward is just for the spring and summer. The prize is a $1000 award for the academic year (autumn, spring, and summer).

The Scholarship’s advantages

For undergraduate students, the student must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits, and for graduate students, a minimum of 9 credits, at the time of grant.
Current or returning students must have two more semesters to complete their degree (semester receiving the scholarship cannot be the final semester)
For undergraduate students, returning/current students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above.
Scholarship awardees for the spring semester will only be eligible for the spring and summer semesters. Scholarship recipients must enroll in a full-time course load either in person or online (summer only) in order to take advantage of the scholarship award opportunity during the spring. All spring scholarship recipients who are eligible must submit a new application by the deadline for the autumn merit scholarship award (see below)

Your scholarship application CANNOT be reviewed unless the application is fully completed.
Only spring and summer semesters are eligible for a merit scholarship awarded for the spring semester. All recipients of spring scholarships are required to enroll in summer courses, either online or in person, either part-time or full-time. All recipients of spring merit scholarships must reapply for the Merit Scholarship award the following year.
